ECHO Festival is back for another year celebra)ng the senses and quintessential lifestyle of Tasmania’s beau)ful East Coast

Many small to medium fes:vals are dropping like flies, even some of the bigger ones. But not this one. Like its namesake, ECHO keeps going, reverbera:ng, bouncing, and geHng bigger!

The East Coast Harvest Odyssey – ECHO – takes place on Saturday 23 March 2024, bringing together local winemakers and producers, along with arIsts, musicians, scienIsts, and thought leaders. ECHO 2024 has been arKully curated to help fesIval lovers switch off from their busy lives and switch ON the senses for a playful exploraIon of mind, body, and spirit – yes, there’s gin, wine and whisky sessions, but there is a whole lot more than that! “ECHO is for the curious, the slightly odd, but meaningful types who care about things – the people who are interested in living,” creaIve producer Ange Boxall says. “It’s about switching on in all the fun ways, so you’ll leave feeling connected, informed and enriched.”

Nestled in the stunning East Coast wine country on the fringe of the seaside town of Swansea “ECHO 2024 celebrates authentic sensory experiences and the coming together of cultural, culinary, and local produce legends. It’s a celebraEon and representaEon of who we truly are as Tasmanians. It’s for people who crave a deeper, unique kind of enrichment and rejuvenation.”

The 2024 entertainment line-up includes the Lennon Wells band, who just gave an outstanding performance at Tassie’s Party in The Paddock. Melbourne’s killer ‘Queenie’ – originally from Tasmanian now based in Melbourne, Queenie is on the rise to stardom – get in now!

And speaking of queens, the queen of drag herself, Pussay Poppins, who will also play host to ECHO’s Trashions on The Field! That’s right, forget about Fashions on The Field – this catwalk is made for the sustainability-minded fashionistas. Guests can parIcipate in making their own ‘Trashions’ from provided materials during the day of ECHO and then parade them on our red carpet in the evening.

There’s also an array or talented Tasmanian musicians and DJs starIng from midday through unIl the wee hours. And let’s not forget everyone’s favourite, Silent Disco with Kombi Krew – super-sonic fun!

This year our festival theme is ‘Oysters’ – and what better way to celebrate that than to make something that opens them! Last year patrons loved working with Blacksmith Artist, Pete Mattila, in the 200-year-old on-site forge, once used to make the horseshoes of Tasmania! Here you will again work with Pete to finish forging the blade of an oyster shuck and then brand it with the custom-made ECHO stamp.

You will also have the chance to do some woodworking for the handle made from beautiful Tasmanian hardwood timber retrieved from the depths of the Pieman River, donated by Hydrowood, as well as make traditional Aboriginal rope with Nita Education.

Such a special experience and a keepsake to take home.

With BYO camping available onsite and Ickets starIng at just $55 plus booking fee, fesIvalgoers can enjoy a full day of fun at a bargain price.

A free shuttle service will be running from several locaIons in central Swansea to the historic ‘Redbanks’ site throughout Saturday.
