Our gorgeous bar, located in the part of the old Soundy building that was once home to our Bookstore, is throwing the doors open. We have selected a stunning range of wines and spirits from our island home, and even the art on the walls is Tasmanian. In 2020 the State Cinema Bar changed it's name to the Angelika; named for it's sister cinema in New York City. The original Angelika Film Center & Café opened in New York City's Soho district in 1989. Since its opening, the Angelika New York has become the most successful and recognized arthouse in the United States. Our Art Deco inspired surroundings make the Angelika Bar the perfect place to kick back, before or after a movie, or just an excellent place to try a delicious cocktail.
