Chris Neobi’s first foray into DJing was via community radio in 1994, before he
launched into a career on the decks which has seen him play with many of
Australia's finest DJs, not to mention a number of the world's best.
Not afraid to push the boundaries with new and challenging sounds, Chris is
determined not to follow bandwagons. A dedication to quality, bridled with an
inate understanding of dancefloor dynamics and the confidence to take risks, has
seen Chris hold a number of residencies (including Syrup, Carbon and Our
House) and billing at many one-off events over the last 20 years or so.
Internationals Chris has played alongside include Claptone, Blond:ish, Dusky,
Purple Disco Machine, Patrick Topping, Robosonic, Weiss, Phil Kieran, Kolombo,
Lancelot, Monkey Safari, Crazy Penis, Dave Clarke, Lottie, Dave Seaman, Infusion,
BT, Ian Pooley, Lucien Foort, Evil Nine, Kaskade, Anthony Pappa and James
Holden – to name but a few. When a promoter requires a controlled warm-up set
to set the night up right, or a follow-up set to remember, it is most often that they
call on Chris to play.
Chris' sound can be described as deep and sexy; funky and chunky; quirky and
dirty. He continues to spread his gospel through regular gigs at bars and clubs
